So, this page finally looks decent. It isn't great, but I'm learning Bootstrap as my first front-end framework, so it's much better than it used to be. If you're interested in seeing the difference, check out my old homepage.
This basically highlights a technique by which one can check his/her CSE Webmail via terminal (using Mutt) between 12am and 6am. The IIT Kanpur LAN ban disallows users from accessing the www.cse URLs at those times. Unfortunately, professors can still send mails at those times. This can save your life in such cases.
The CSE Department offers students 100 print-outs a month for work-related printouts. Unfortunately, one can't just press the 'Print' button and expect to get results (If you've figured out a way to do that, I'd like to know). This page lists important commands related to using the printers in the department.
IIT Kanpur gives every student his/her own homepage. IITK CSE, being special gives us three, of which two are accessible from outside campus. This page explains how one can put his/her own content on the webpage.
This is again a command-line tool (Lynx) that allows users to view web.cse websites between 12am and 6am. The IIT Kanpur LAN ban disallows users from accessing the URLs at those times, although ironport proxy does seem to have fixed this problem.
This is the page for the lecture series being informally conducted by the Y13 PG students. Generally, we focus on topics that will help the others out in placement preparation and/or learning something new and interesting. Obviously, the target audience for these lecture series are the Y13 PG students themselves, however everyone interested are encouraged to attend. In fact, a good starting point to interacting with our batch would be to attend these talks.
This is my first attempt at creating a game for Ludum Dare. I didn't really put in the entire 48 hours. This weekend was pretty hectic for me. I think it's still a good effort, and it made me learn a lot of Bootstrap and CSS and revise my JS..
