I am a developer at HackerRank and an alumnus of IIT Kanpur. I'm interested in Web-Development, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Business Intelligence.
I am currently working here, as a full-stack developer. It's a lot of fun, and I've learned to use Ruby-on-Rails, Backbone.js, Coffeescript, and various database technologies.
The Students' Placement Office, at IIT Kanpur was where I spent the entire academic year of 2014-15, dealing with companies, students, and the Institute administration. I ended up supervising a team of over 100 people, and succeeded in getting more than 300 companies to visit IIT Kanpur to hire its students.
I have two degrees from IIT Kanpur: An M.Sc. in Physics, and an M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering. I've spent 8 of the best years of my life on this campus.
One of my most interesting projects was at Durham University (Durham, UK). It was under Dr. Patrice Carbonneau in the Department of Geography, and it involved building a MATLAB tool to convert satellite images of rivers into a graph showing river connectivity, and using this graph to predict the pollution at a given point in the river.
My first experience with Natural Language Processing was at IIIT Hyderabad. I worked on a parser for the Hindi language.
I have had many opportunities to work with the faculty of IISc Bangalore, most prominent of which is the Quantum Computing Summer School that I attended, conducted by the Center for Quantum Informatics and Quantum Computing.
